Provenance
Possibly bought in Italy by Thomas John Wynn (d. 1832), 2nd Baron Newborough, Glynllifon, Caernarvonshire, Wales, and by descent until sold with the house to the present owners.

Lot Essay

The colourful Sicilian Jasper slab may have been brought back from his Grand Tour to Italy in the early 1820s by Thomas John Wynn, 2nd Baron Newborough (d. 1832).
