An oak and elm box settle, English, 19th century
Profusely carved overall, the twin panelled back with guilloche frieze and arcaded thistle-filled lozenges, with foliate carved arms on baluster supports, hinged seat and twin-panelled front with stylised foliage, flanking a stiff-leaf panel, on bracket feet, the box seat formerly a chest, of earlier date
