Lot Essay

This is a highly unusual dresser in many respects. Even the doors of the platerack are both hinged towards the centre.
Certain features, such as the doors in the platerack and the line inlay, suggest a West Midlands or Welsh origin. Such large roundels on the doors are not known to have been recoreded although much smaller roundels are well known on furniture from the Welsh Borders.
