A matched set of six oak chairs, South Yorkshire, late 17th century
each with arched top rail and similar arched splat below, between uprights with scroll finials, variously carved with scrolls, foliage and hatched decoration, most with split baluster mouldings to the uprights and all with drop finials, above a solid seat and block and turned legs joined by square section back and side stretchers, the front stretcher variously turned, restorations, two with a cracked upright, one repaired, height variation, one with chalk inscription ''Horton Smith Collection''
