double sided, with Gabriel approaching Mary from the stem of the crozier within a scrolling dragon's head forming the crook, inscribed on both sides AVE MARIA GRA PLEM (SIC), with a knop of ajouré foliate ornament and three appliques below -- 11in. (28cm.) high
