Lot Essay

An almost identical dresser is illustrated in David Knell English Country Furniture, London, 1992, colour plate XXII where the author writes that "the imitation quoins decorating the corners of this example are a particularly recurrent feature on the bases of longcase clocks made in the Liverpool area."
