Eastern India or Bengal, Pala Period, circa 11th Century
Well carved with the animated elephant-headed god dancing on a double-lotus base supported by a stepped plinth carved with lotus scrolls, his radiating arms holding his various attributes, flanked by female musicians playing cymbals and a drum, the arched mandorla with two apsaras centering a bundle of radishes
