Of different size, the mouth rim of each tapering to form two angular spouts above striated bands on each side of the neck, with two spiralled medallions on the lower body and a pair of broad strap handles, with conical metal bosses symmetrically applied around the body and at the top and bottom of the handles, the base countersunk

A large vessel of this type with applied metal bosses was one of a group of three amphorae of varying heights sold in these rooms, 16 September 1999, lot 255.
