A faon de Venise baluster jug
First half of the 16th Century, Venice
With lightly moulded vertical ribs, an applied trailed footring and shallow kick-in base, the dark-blue scroll handle with traces of a gilt band and pincered terminal, applied with a wide band of dark-blue trailing beneath an everted rim with pinched spout and enriched with a gilt band (gilding rubbed, crack to base)
