The case with stepped top (section of cornice detached to rear), glazed panels to the sides and rear door, plain panel within gilt slip to the front (part of frame lacking, later), on stepped and moulded base with bun feet, with gilt-brass lanceolate leaf bexel to the white enamel Roman dial with Arabic quarters, gilt-metal hands, the single barrel movement with silk suspension and pull wind quarter repeat, the shaped backplate signed C.les Martin Paris; possibly associated -- 15¾in. (40cm.) high
