A Belgian carved oak quarter-chiming longcase clock, 19th century
The stepped and moulded arched top with glazed side panels to a hood supported by carved foliate scrolls, the shaped trunk door centred by a lenticle, on stepped plinth with canted angles and central recessed cartouche panel, the gilt-brass dial signed Joseph Henderickx A Malines on a silvered disc in the arch, with mask and foliate spandrels to the arcaded silvered chapter ring with engraved centre, the triple chain fusee movement quarter-chiming on a nest of eight bells and with hour strike on further bell -- 95¼in. (242cm.) high
