The case with brass-capped swan neck pediment to the hood with arched glass side panels and outset brass-capped and turned columns, with three-quarter length pilasters flanking the short trunk door with moulded panelling, on stepped plinth with conforming panelling and raised on a wavy apron, the 13in. white dial painted to the arch with a rustic scene of a shepherd and shepherdess and with spandrels emblematic of four Continents, the white centre signed Wm. Young Dundee, with subsidiary seconds and calendar rings, engraved brass hands (seconds detached), with false plate to the four pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement, with built up cheekboards -- 83½in. (212.5cm.) high
