An English miniature mahogany longcase clock, first half 20th century
The hood with foliate capped swan neck pediment, arched glazed side panels and outset brass stop-fluted columns, bone door handle, with wavy arch top trunk door flanked by brass stop-fluted three quarter pilasters, on stepped and moulded plith with canted front angles and wavy top panel (loss of moulding to top edge of plinth), on bracket feet, the foliate engraved brass dial signed Wm Lane Calne on a silvered disc in the arch, with silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring and matted centre, the four pillar movement with anchor escapement and strike on bell -- 63½in. (162cm.) high
