With rounded ends and sliding tray, the top and sides painted with a series of cartouches depicting the various stages leading up to a wedding including courtship, the bride's party, the choosing of fabrics, and the procession, the sides also with portraits of european youthful beauties, the cream underside with fine gold leafy vine around shaped indigo cartouches, the red tray with golden meandering flowering vine, the interior with FITTED ENAMELLED GOLD COVERED INKWELL, the gold ground with simple fine floral sprays, the inkwell cover with a portrait roundel, minimal restoration at one end
