British Antarctic Expedition, 1910-1913
Robert Falcon SCOTT (1868-1912). - An art nouveau oak and brass-mounted rectangular open mail box removed from the Terra Nova, the divided interior with 'Post' and 'Delivery' on shaped brass labels, with stylised brass foliate panel to the front, on basket feet (damage to one foot, somewhat crudely restored), [circa 1910], 25cm. wide, 11.5cm. deep, 12.5cm. high. Provenance: Thomas Withers (by descent).
