Circa 1820, three inscribed 8e. Desarnaud à l'Escalier de Cristal à paris in iron-red, one incised 2, another incised 3
The centres painted with Spanish views within broad gilt bands and named in brown script on the reverses, the blue-ground borders with a continuous garland of stylised gilt foliage and edged with gilt bands, comprising:

Casa del Cid en Burgos. (small area of rubbing adjacent to well at 4 o'clock)
Vista del Puente de Martorelly de la Montâne de Mont-Senat
Vita general de las cascadas - de Sn. miguel delfay (small area of rubbing to well at 9 o'clock)
col de balaguer. (minute area of rubbing to well at 5 o'clock)

Lot Essay

Marie Désarnaud founded the Escalier de Cristal in 1802. By 1820 it had become the most famous shop in the Palais Royal.
