32 illuminated and illustrated folios from a Khamseh,
Persian manuscript on paper, each with 19ll. of fine black nasta'liq in four columns, gold divisions between black rules, blue, red and gold margins between black rules, blue outer rule, illuminated heading panels over two columns, 7 folios with gold and polychrome illuminated heading panel, each of a different design, gold clouds between the lines of text and illuminated margins, (margins added and illuminated in 19th century), 3 folios with the end of a section and illuminated panel below, Isfahan, Iran, colophon dated Dhu'l-Hijja AH 1017/1608 AD and signed by 'Abd al-.... (erased), 22 folios with finely painted illustrations (some flaking and light wear, some illustrations retouched or repainted in 19th century) - 29 x 19.5cm.
