Serial No. 00114471, in black finish, single cutaway body, twenty-two fret bound ebony fingerboard with block inlays, headstock face with split diamond inlay, truss rod cover with Les Paul Custom, two humbucking pickups, four rotary controls, selector switch, additional switch, metal bridge, stud tailpiece and black pickguard; and a tweed hardshell contour case with black plush lining with American Airlines tie-on label inscribed in black felt pen with Chips Moman's details

Lot Essay

This guitar was given to Chips Moman by J.R. Cobb, a founder member of the hit 60s group Classics IV, and the 70s/80s rock band, the Atlanta Rhythm Section. It was used on several LPs and many concerts by the Atlanta Rhythm Section, including their biggest-selling record, A Rock And Roll Alternative in 1977.
