Rose still lifes, circa 1853-55

Adolph Braun began his career as a textile designer in Paris. He turned to photography in 1853 when he made a series of flower studies for artists who employed flowers as elements of decoration. Apart from his flower studies, Braun is best known for his grand Alpine views.
