2° (283 x 344mm). 14 numbered hand-coloured engraved plates by Alix after Saint-Fal, with captions, mounted in a modern album. (Plates 1, 7 and 11 waterstained, plate 3 lightly spotted, plate 5 torn with some loss, plate 14 torn at lower margin.) Red half morocco and marbled boards, spine titled in gilt.
A COMPLETE SUITE OF THESE RARE AND HANDSOME PLATES, without wrappers and presumably issued without text. The dress uniforms of Great Britain and France are both allotted two plates, while the uniforms of Russia, Prussia, Austria, Bavaria, Poland, Holland, Switzerland, Turkey, Spain, and Sweden are each depicted on a single plate. Colas 2617: 'finement coloriées ... très rare.'
