A 12-inch (30.5cm.) diameter terrestrial table globe made up of twelve chromolithographed paper gores, the equatorial and meridian of Greenwich graduated in degrees, the oceans showing steamship routes with ports of arrival and departure and distances in nautical miles (faded), the Antarctic with projected and some partial coastline, the Arctic with the area north of the Baring straits labelled UNEXPLORED, the continents with nation states uncoloured, the boundaries shown by dotted lines, showing towns, cities, rivers, mountains and the Great Wall of China, with a stamped brass hour dial at either Pole and stamped brass meridian circle, the chamfered mahogany horizon papered and graduated in degrees, miles and kilometers, showing also a chart with the relative heights of the continents' highest peaks and mountain ranges, and the relative depths of the globe's oceans and seas (one small repair), raised on four carved quadrant supports to decoratively carved and channelled column and stepped circular plinth base, the edge with inlaid diamond motif -- 25in.
