Nomura Soken was of the school of Nomura Kanenori, a pupil of Soheishi Soten I. He was working in the middle of the 18th century.

Edo period (18th century) and Momoyama period (16th century)
Both of iron, the first heavily carved in Hikone-bori with a ho-o over a wisteria branch, the beak and legs inlaid in copper and other details in gold, signed Goshu Hikone no ju Yumeishi Nomura Soken, 7.5cm; the second in mokko form, the plate carved in typical fashion with stylised clouds, a leaf, a flower and other forms, 7.5cm.
