A Worcester quatrefoil sauce-tureen, cover and stand of 'Lord Henry Thynne' type
Circa 1775, blue crescent marks
The stand painted with three foxes in a landscape, the tureen with a fox in a lake with bees and a hedgehog and a fox carrying a sheep, the cover with a lion and a dog eating a bat, within turquoise and gilt bordered cartouches on a ground of birds and insects in flight, groups of fruit pierced by bows and arrows and flower-garlands, within blue-ground borders enriched in gilt with alternating diaper, lozenge and floral ornament, the tureen with shell handles and the cover with bud finial (minor rim and footrim chips, slight wear to enamels and gilt)
The stand 9 3/8in. (23.5cm.) wide
