A FINE DATED KOZUKA BY YOSHIOKA INABA NO SUKE AND SEVEN OTHERS
Edo period (17th/19th century)
A very fine and typical shakudo-nanako kozuka inlaid with a swan on a stream, signed Yoshioka Inaba no suke and dated 1843; a fine kozuka with copper ground and shibuichi back boldly inlaid in shakudo and gold with a windswept peony, gold inlaid signature Morimura Atsutaka and a kao; a good kozuka with shakudo-nanako plate and gilt frame and back, inlaid with gold figures of five blind men, Goto school; a shakudo migaki-ji kozuka inlaid with two butterflies and a cricket among grape vines; a shibuichi-nanako kozuka inlaid with a fish on seaweed, with signature Iwamoto Kanri; a pale shibuichi kozuka carved and inlaid with a man throwing beans at the New Year celebrations, a straw rope suspended above him, signed Mitsuyoshi; a sentoku kozuka carved and inlaid with a hawk perched on a rock above waves, with signature Yasuchika; and a shakudo migaki-ji kozuka inlaid with a shishi with a peony stem in its mouth (8)
