A KOZUKA SIGNED NARA SOYU AND SEVEN OTHERS
Edo period (19th century)
A dark shibuichi kozuka inlaid with a man and a boy, sitting under a plum tree, signed Nara Soyu at 76 years of age; an unusual shakudo nanako kozuka decorated with a gourd hanging on the same hook as a hashira-kake, the latter decorated with Narihira on a horse admiring Mount Fuji; a silver kozuka decorated with a crayfish, an eel and three other fish, all speared with a stem of bamboo in various metals, signed Terunaga; a shakudo kozuka, the mouth repaired with a sleeve, decorated with five horses, the reverse with a plum tree; a shibuichi kozuka carved and inlaid with a boy climbiing a tree as his ox sits below; a copper kozuka with two horses, with signature Tsunemasa; a copper kozuka with a goblin on a plaque on a pillar; and a shiiremono, with signature Haruaki Hogen (8)
