A Frankfurt blue and white circular dish
First quarter of the 18th century
Painted with a scene from MARC.2., the healing of the man sick of the palsy, the invalid suspended by rope held by four arms emerging from clouds before Christ and a crowd in a townscape within a double line cartouche, the border with a band of stylised flowering foliage within lines (slight glaze flaking to rim)
15½in. (39.5cm.) diam.
