A Deruta wet-drug jar
Circa 1550
Of baluster form with strap handle and tapering spout, painted in ochre, blue, yellow and green, named for ·:O·GILLI· on a label above a winged putto in a landscape and below stylised scrolls within a robbiana cartouche flanked by meandering ribbons, the initial B. below the handle (slight crack to body and top of handle, slight restoration to tip of spout, minor rim chips and glaze flaking)
