(68.8cm.), in a brown lacquer scabbard, brass tachi mounts decorated with scrolling foliage in katakiribori, the brass menuki formed as a dragon, the brass ishimeji taikogane with go san no kiri, old wear; a katana, the blade, honzukuri, iorimune, shallow torii-zori with chugissaki, forging pattern masame, tempered edge komidare with kaen boshi, tang o-suriage with three holes, inscription referring to the blade being presented to a shrine, mei: Naoe Suketomo.., 321/8in. (81.5cm.); in a black lacquer scabbard with a shakudo nanakoji kurikata chiselled and inlaid with gilt kiku, fuchi-kashira, tsuba and kojiri of iron decorated with scattered silver and gilt cherry blossom, gilt dragon menuki; a tachi, the blade, honzukuri, iorimune with chugissaki, toriizori, forging pattern ko-itame, tempered edge notare with gunome, komaru boshi, tang machi-okuri with two holes, signed Yokoyama Kozuke daijo Fujiwara Sukesada, 271/8in. (47.8cm.), in a rubbed same saya, iron tsuba with plum blossom, the iron kashira with flowers, the copper nanakoji fuchi with a crest, the copper kozuka with flowers and butterfly, cotton bound sharkskin hilt; another, blade unokubi zukuri, koitame, midare hamon of nioi, 127/8in. (32.6cm.); in a brown lacquer koshi-kizami scabbard decorated with a horse beneath a blossoming cherry tree, the small iron tsuba with cherry blossom, the shibuichi fuchi-kashira depicting sages in a bamboo forest, the menuki formed as a crane, the iron kozuka with Hannya mask; the blade, honzukuri, iorimune with chugissaki, toriizori, mokume, suguha of nioi, tang shaped kiri, 161/8in. (41cm.), in a black striped brown lacquer scabbard, the iron tsuba pierced with leaves and flowers, the shakudo nanakoji fuchi-kashira, kurikata and uragawara decorated with trees and vines in gold and copper inlay, the gilt menuki formed as Daikoku, the iron kozuka with an old man holding a scroll under pine in katakiri-bori, gold and silver inlay, kojiri missing; and another, the blade honzukuri, iorimune with kokissaki, suguha of nioi, tang ubu, 127/8in.
