An aikuchi in shakudo mounts and another
The first blade hirazukuri, iorimune, o-itamehada with mokume, gunome hamon of nie with sunagashi, ubu nakago, mei: Seki no ju Kanekado, Muromachi period (16th century), 11½in. (29.2cm), in its striated black and gold lacquer saya, matching shakudo mounts carved with tendrils in kebori and decorated with hexagonal gilt mon, similar mon menuki, one gilt, the other silvered, shakudo nanako kogai and kozuka decorated with boats in iroe takazogan, 19th century; and the other blade hirazukuri, iorimune, tsukare itamehada, hoso suguha hamon, tsuka not removed, 10in. (25.5cm), 16th century, in its black lacquer mounting decorated with gold wistaria, lacqered horn kozuka with a gold mantis, shibuichi kogai with a flower in katakiri, 19th century (2)
