Mei: Kanemoto, Momoyama Period (16th Century)
The blade hirazukuri, mitsumune, itamehada, midare hamon of nioi, ubu nakago, 93/8in. (23.8cm), in its black lacquer saya decorated with kiri and tendrils in gold lacquer, plain fuchi-kashira of gilt copper, iron tsuba with a dragon in gold nunome, copper nanako kurikata with plum branch and blossom in gilt and shakudo takazogan, shibuichi kozuka with clouds in silver sumizogan, copper menuki with gilt inlay of mounted Chinese figures, 19th century
