Black lacquer ground; decoration in gold, aokin and red takamaki-e and gold flakes and dust; compartments and risers gold nashiji; shoulders and rims gold lacquer; signed in gold hiramaki-e underneath Kajikawa with a seal Ei; cylindrical amber ojime

The leaves, fruits and tendrils of a gourd vine, with a grasshopper on one side and a praying mantis on the other
