THREE WOOD NETSUKE
Unsigned, Edo Period (18th/19th Century)
A manju netsuke formed from an amalgam of nine Kyogen and No masks, including Okame, Hannya, Shojo, Okina and Usofuki; a wood netsuke of a reclining shishi, the head turned toward its tail; and another of a shishi nibbling a large ball which it grasps with its paws
2in. (5cm.) diam., 13/8in. (3.5cm.) and 2in. (5cm.) long
