A Pair of Meissen groups of Venus and Cupid and Diana and Cupid
Circa 1760, blue crossed swords marks at back
Modelled by F.E. Meyer, scantily draped in flowered cloaks, Venus with Cupid with a quiver and arrow at her side, Diana holding a bow and arrow with Cupid at her side, both standing before tree-stumps on gilt scroll-moulded bases applied with flowers and foliage (Venus lacking left hand and with restoration to left elbow, fingers of right hand, thighs and tree-stumps and Cupid cracked through left knee and ankle and with part of arrow lacking, Diana with part of arrow lacking, damages to fingers and laurel wreath, both with slight chipping to extremities)
