A walnut and marquetry longcase clock
The hood with stepped top and glazed side panels, later pilasters, the trunk door with later mouldings and glazed lenticle, inlaid with figures amidst seaweed marquetry, on stepped plinth with later base, the 12in. square brass dial with engraved border and cherub and coronet spandrels to the silvered chapter ring with half hour and half quarter hour markers, signed Rob Sly King street Westminster, matted centre with subsidiary seconds ring marked at intervals of 5, ringed winding holes and date aperture with engraved border, later hands, the four pillar movement with anchor escapement and strike on bell (parts detached), with spot finished backplate signed SWINDEN & SONS BIRMINGHAM; composite, case basically late 17th/early 18th century with adaptations and later veneers and some losses, dial early 18th century, movement second half 19th century -- 87½in. (22cm.) high

These charges are payable to Cadogan Tate and are subject to VAT and an insurance surcharge. Please note: All charges due to Cadogan Tate must be paid at the time of collection from their warehouse.
