Gifted to the owner by her grandmother, Mary Duke Biddle, who was the granddaughter of Benjamin A. Duke. Her residences included 1009 Fifth Avenue, where she lived for 50 years, "Linden Court" in Irvington, NY and "Pinecrest" in Durham, NC. She was a great admirer of music, paintings, French furniture and above all, jewelry.
