Fiat continued to dominate the small car market in Italy after the war with its brilliant Topolino 500 - a car which was so successful it actually prevented many Italian competitors from entering this market place at all. This success was continued with the production of the Fiat 600, introduced in 1955, and by 1960 it had sold an incredible 891,000 examples.

The Fiat 600 'Multipla' was a 600-based, forward control 'people carrier' built from 1955 until 1966. This genuine six seater must surely have initiated the 'space van' theme and thus paved the way for future designs such as Renault's Espace.

This particular Multipla is offered requiring full restoration. It is painted white and has black seats, four of which fold down, as original, to transform the use from a people carrier to a van in a matter of seconds. The engine has not been run for many years and is believed to be siezed, showing signs of oil delivery problems.

It is thought to be about 90 complete and is sold with a US title document.
