A Japanese bronze incense burner and cover
the rectangular body fitted with two handles and mounted on four feet, decorated in gold, silver and copper takazogan, hirazogan and katakiribori, one side with a house by a running stream in a mountainous landscape, the other with a fountain below a blossoming plum tree growing among peonies, the domed cover with sprays of chrysanthemum and scrolling foliage, the finial modelled as a shishi -- 8½in. (21.5cm.) high, 19th Century, (minor wear).
