A pair of Chinese Export 'mythological' plates
painted en grisaille and gilt after a European print depicting the gods Jupiter and Juno embracing beside an eagle, a peacock and putti, the rims with an ornate border of interlaced acanthus leaves above a band of spearheads to the wells -- 9in. (23cm.) diam, Qianlong, (minute rim chips to one, some rubbing).
