The ebonised case with rectangular stepped pediment applied with ormolu rosette and palmette mounts to the entablature supported on two ebonised columns with elaborate ormolu capitals, the rectangular base applied to the front with an elaborate trumpet flower and wreath mount, the moulded base on foliate cast ormolu feet, the pendulum of nine-rod gridiron form knife-edge suspended from the pediment and with a temperature scale applied to the front indicated to by a blued steel pointer, the pendulum bob with leaf-cast bezel to the engine-turned dial painted with Roman chapters and with subsidiary seconds ring below XII, blued steel Breguet-style hands, signed Ledure, Bronzier, A Paris within a curved sector above VI, the twin barrel movement with internal pinwheel escapement and countwheel strike on a bell, backplate numbered 92
