The main panel with Herakles battling the Amazon queen Andromache, the hero clad in a chiton, his lion skin worn over his head and tied around his neck, a sword in his right hand, Andromache in a short chiton, armed with greaves and a high-crested helmet, a spear in her upraised left hand, her shield with a gorgoneia as the blazon, Herakles' companion to the left clad in a cuirass over a short, patterned chiton, wearing a crested Corinthian helmet, a shield in his left hand, a spear in his right, a second Amazon to the right wearing a short chiton, greaves and high-crested helmet, a shield over one shoulder, a spear in the other, the scene framed on either side by bands of ivy; the shoulder panel with a woman in a short chiton standing between two youths, the painter changing his mind in the application of the white of the woman's flesh, thus the "third" silhouette leg, the trio framed by a pair of sirens, with four small rosettes in the field; rays above the foot, a red band at the join of the neck to the body and red applied on the rim, a thin red band on the interior of the mouth; details in added red and white throughout
