FIVE SYRIAN HAEMATITE CYLINDER SEALS
circa early 2nd millennium b.c.
One engraved with a worshipper beside two facing deities, two small figures between guilloche as the terminal; one with two female worshippers in tightly-fitted sheaths on either side of a back-facing figure, a bird above and below a guilloche as the terminal; one with two worshippers on either side of a deity standing within a niche, four small figures above two facing sphinxes as the terminal; and one with two facing sphinxes below an outstretched bird, facing seated monkeys and a hare in the field
7/8 in. (2.2 cm) high for the largest (5)
