PRINTED ON VELLUM. 8° (208 x 127mm). Collation and contents as previous lot. 92 leaves. Type: 93B. 14 large criblé metalcuts, including one repeat, within decorative borders comprising up to 12 pieces, metalcut anatomical man, publisher's device, 32 small criblé metal cuts. Liquid-gold initials, paragraph marks and line-fillers painted on alternate pink and blue ground in a contemporary hand, pages ruled in red. (Small wormholes in first 12 lvs., some light soiling and staining, title slightly worn, a few borders just shaved, small erasure on K4r.) 19th-century remboitage of blue straight-grained morocco with gilt- and blindtooled border, pink silk endpapers, old spine label preserved on front pastedown, (light wear at extremities). Provenance: some deletions of text in suffrage of St. Christopher, St. Apollonia, and Pope Boniface; note on the edition in Italian tipped in; William Baird of Newbyth, Bt. (18th-century bookplate, altered to John Baird); Amelia Smith, 1768 (inscribed label laid down on rear pastedown); William Brown Sams (monogram label).
