A rare edition. Davies and Brunet describe a closely related edition of the same year for the use of Rome; this Bescançon edition contains the same cuts, except for the Death of the Virgin and the Death of Uriah. It substitutes the rare device of Guillaume Anabat (with initials removed from the shield) for the Death of the Virgin, repeating it again for the Office of the Dead. The cuts are loose copies of illustrations used by Pychore/Kerver, Vostre-Pigouchet set 3, and Hardouin (cf. Davies 275). Davies considered the 15 small cuts 'important' and to be by the artist responsible for Vivien's cuts. The use is deleted from title (replaced in manuscript with 'dauphin') and d4r, although quires are marked 'B'. Brunet Heures, 289; not in Lacombe.
