Contemporary Dutch (?) goatskin, gilt spine, triple gilt fillet round sides, a fleuron corner-piece dividing the outer from the inner two fillets, at centre THE ARMS OF JAMES II, gilt turn-ins, edges gilt over marbling (split at head of upper hinge), enclosed in a red levant morocco case. Provenance: James II (binding); Andrew Lumisden (engraved bookplate by R. Strange, Jacobite and antiquary); Mortimer L. Schiff (leather bookplate, sold at Sotheby's 5 July 1938, lot 615, for £44 to Sawyer).
