2° (368 x 221mm). Black and roman letter. Engraved frontispiece by P. Williamson. Ruled throughout in red, and with the calendar partly printed in red. Woodcut initials and ornaments. (Some light browning and dampstaining of margins, G1-I2 and a few other leaves with tear at lower margin.) SEMI-SOMBRE BINDING OF CONTEMPORARY BLACK TURKEY, sides with triple gilt panels, the inner panel enclosing a blind-tooled design of flower-heads, 'drawer-handles,' volutes and leafy sprays, the outer panel similarly blind-tooled with sprays and volutes, all three panels with corner-pieces and side-pieces in gilt, the middle panel having large stepped side-pieces tooled with strawberries, the remaining ground filled with hatched lines in blind, spine panels gilt-tooled with contrasting patterns of flower heads and circles, gilt edges (rebacked preserving old spine, corners bumped, tiny worm holes and chip marks to upper cover, scratch marks to lower cover.) CONTEMPORARY GILT-TOOLED RED TURKEY, sides with fillet and roll-tool panels, the outer panel with floral corner-pieces and side-pieces built up from repeated semi-circles and small tools (joints cracked and rather worn, spine restored at head).
