A Cosway-style binding in contemporary green morocco gilt by Bayntun of Bath, upper cover with inset hand-coloured portrait miniature of Marie Antoinette signed ?'Stetter', the miniature surrounded by a simple border of a single fillet with small flower-heads and broken lines, all within a decorative outer border of elaborate strapwork within a single fillet, the lower cover with a matching outer border, spine in six compartments with raised bands, lettered in the second and third, the others with simple repeat decoration in gilt, gilt turn-ins, watered-silk endleaves, gilt edges.
