A RARE CHINESE IMARI BEAKER VASE IMITATING JAPANESE ARITA
early 18th century
Decorated with variously shaped panels enclosing figures in landscapes on white ground within wide black borders, reserved on a dense foliate ground in underglaze blue with large flowerheads, all between geometric floral bands at the foot and a trellis-pattern band reserved with vignettes of aquatic animals below the flaring mouth, base hole restored
