Decorated in gold and brown hiramakie on a roironuri ground and inlaid in aogai with ho-o birds and aquatic birds on rockwork among tachibana and bellflowers within a shaped panel and rectangular panels inlaid in aogai, the sides and back with rectangular panels filled with vine leaves, flowers and a butterfly divided by geometric bands, the cover with four mon, bordered by geometric bands, engraved kanagu and lockplate, some old wear and damage
