With fullered single-edged blade double-edged towards the point, the forte etched and gilt with scrollwork, a hare, and a hound, all against a blued ground, the hilt with silver quillon-block with small up-turned scrolled tips, flattened ivory grip inset around the sides and top with a silver strap, the sides each with two silver bands and a shaped silver plaque (silver parts with minor damage), and later leather scabbard with iron locket and chape
