With browned twist barrels, the rib inscribed in encrusted gold Gothic script 'Inv.on Béringer Bté. à Paris', and cut at the rear with foliage on a matted ground between the two spring-loaded strikers, the underside of the breeches stamped 'Léopold Bernard' together with his marks (Neue Støckel 1233-4), case-hardened matt-grey back-strap chiselled with interlaced strapwork and foliage on a punched ground, signed case-hardened matt-grey back-action locks en suite, action and mounts en suite, varnished figured walnut butt and bar-in-wood fore-end, the latter fitted for a screw-in handle (missing), the trigger-guard with a gold coat-of-arms within a gold ribbon engraved with the motto 'Deo Et Tibi Fide', iron sling mounts, blued iron ejector rod, and nearly all its original finish: in fitted case covered in black canvas, the interior lined in plum velvet
